These guides answer the questions people actually ask about getting things done in Chilliwack: where to eat downtown that is not out on the highway strip, whether the farm stands are worth the drive in August, what is still open on a wet Sunday in February. They are written for people who are going this weekend, not for people planning a trip next year.

I rank places and say what the ranking is based on, and where a guide leans on the public map data or on what a business says about itself, it says so. Some of it is logistics: which end of Yale Road to start at, where the parking is, which places take cash only, and how far out of town a thing really is once you are the one driving it. Some of it is me being opinionated about lunch.
The one rule I hold to is that the guides cover the whole city, including the parts that are harder to write about: the farm roads, the hillsides, and the neighbourhoods that have almost nothing in them.

- Best-of lists I put them in order and say out loud what the order is based on.
- Seasonal and events These run on dates. What sells out, what to book, and where to leave the car.
- Practical guides These answer the awkward ones. Nine days of rain, where the dog is welcome, feeding eight people without a booking.
