Businesses in Little Mountain, Chilliwack
Chilliwack's smallest neighbourhood in both area and population, wrapped around Mount Shannon northeast of downtown. Detached houses on the hilltop and hillsides, with a large forested block in the middle.
Little Mountain is the smallest piece of Chilliwack any way you measure it: about 1,170 residents on the slopes and top of Mount Shannon, northeast of the downtown. Most of the middle is forest, reached by the Little Mountain Stairs and a set of lookouts that are the reason a lot of the rest of the city comes up here at all.
It is residential to the point of being nothing else. There is no commercial strip, no plaza and no centre, and there never has been. The businesses with a Little Mountain address are the ones that work out of a house or a shop at the back of one — trades, a contractor or two, the sort of one-person operation that needs an address but not a shopfront.
That is worth saying plainly rather than padding the page out: this is a small neighbourhood with a short list, and the honest version of it is short.
