Suburban subdivisions on the rising north slopes of the Cascades in southeast Chilliwack, the fastest-growing neighbourhood in the city. Holds the Chilliwack Community Forest and The Falls golf course.

The Eastern Hillsides grew 163 per cent between 2011 and 2021 — from roughly 1,300 people to roughly 3,450 — which is far and away the sharpest growth anywhere in Chilliwack, and it is still going. The neighbourhood is a set of subdivisions and cul-de-sac clusters pushed up onto the north slopes of the Cascades, on the ridge that separates the Chilliwack River valley from the farmland below.

It is remote for a suburb. There is no commercial centre and, given how it has been zoned, there is unlikely to be one soon; residents drive down to Rosedale or into the city for everything. The businesses that carry an Eastern Hillsides address are overwhelmingly trades and home-based operations, which is exactly what you would expect from a neighbourhood that has been a construction site for fifteen years.

The other thing up here is land: the Chilliwack Community Forest, Lexw Qwò:m Park and The Falls golf course, which together take up more of the neighbourhood than the housing does.
