Ice Cream & Dessert in Chilliwack
Chilliwack has an unfair advantage in frozen dairy: it sits in the middle of the largest dairy-producing area in British Columbia, and some of the milk does not travel far before it becomes ice cream. The trade is seasonal and geographic. Farm-gate operations out in Greendale, Rosedale and Yarrow open when the weather turns and close when it goes; the Vedder Crossing and Cultus Lake road sees heavy summer traffic and supports counters that would not survive on local custom alone; and there are year-round shops in Sardis and the downtown. If you are here in February, check the hours before driving out to a farm.

Chilliwack eats in three separate places, and only one of them is obvious
The Luckakuck strip is the visible half of eating in Chilliwack, and the least interesting. The rest is downtown around Five Corners, in the numbered units of the Vedder Road plazas, and out on the farm roads through Greendale and Yarrow.

Greendale Acres throws its Summer Send Off all three days, Cultus Lake runs its last big waterpark stretch with honest caveats, and Monday closes with a charity car show.
