Ice Cream & Dessert
A ice cream shop on the Vedder Road run south toward the river.
Vedder Mountain Road is the road out towards Cultus Lake, and an address on it means something particular in this trade. Frozen dessert in Chilliwack is seasonal and geographic in equal measure: the farm-gate operations out in Greendale, Rosedale and Yarrow open when the weather turns and shut when it goes, year-round shops sit in Sardis and the downtown, and the Vedder Crossing and Cultus road carries a summer load heavy enough to support counters that local custom alone would not.
Banter is at 45530 Vedder Mountain Road in Vedder, the fastest growing part of the city and now second only to the downtown for population. That is a useful pair of things to have at once: passing traffic heading for the lake and the river, and a resident population close enough to walk or drive over on an ordinary evening. Garrison Crossing, built on the grounds of the Canadian Forces base that closed in December 1997, sits back from this stretch, and the housing that went up around it accounts for most of the 39 per cent the neighbourhood added between 2011 and 2021. Whether the shop trades on that basis through the whole year is not something this listing settles, and February is a very different month from July on that road.
The genuine local advantage worth mentioning is dairy. Chilliwack sits in the middle of the largest dairy producing area in British Columbia, with more than 700 farms inside the municipality and close to 30 per cent of local economic activity tied to agriculture. Milk does not travel far here before it becomes something else. That is a fact about the valley rather than a claim about any particular counter, but it is the reason this category is stronger in Chilliwack than in cities several times the size.
Both a phone number and a website are published above, which between them should settle hours and seasonality before anyone drives out.

The drive-throughs on Luckakuck are the visible half of eating here. The interesting half is downtown, out on the farm roads, and in the strip plazas nobody photographs.
