Cafés in Chilliwack
Coffee in Chilliwack divides fairly neatly by neighbourhood. Downtown has the sit-and-work rooms, several of them in heritage buildings around Five Corners and Wellington Avenue where the ceilings are high and the wifi is an afterthought. Garrison Crossing has the walkable-square version, which is what that neighbourhood was designed for. Along Vedder Road the format is mostly drive-through-adjacent, serving traffic rather than lingering. And there is a rural strand — a farm shop with an espresso machine, a counter at the back of a nursery out in Rosedale — that only makes sense in a city where two thirds of the land is under crop. The national coffee chains are not listed.
