Fairfield Island is not an obvious place for a coffee shop, which is most of what makes this one interesting. The Hope Slough curls around the southern edge of the neighbourhood and cuts it off from the downtown, and what sits inside is about as close to purely residential as Chilliwack gets: a grid of detached houses, roughly 95 per cent single family, with more parkland per block than anywhere else in the city. It is the second smallest neighbourhood in Chilliwack by area and still holds more people than half the others, which works out as a great many households and very little commercial frontage between them.
