Clothing Stores
An independent clothing shop near Garrison Crossing.
Vedder grew 39 per cent between 2011 and 2021, faster than anywhere in Chilliwack except Promontory, and most of that arrived at the south end around Garrison Crossing, built on the grounds of the Canadian Forces base after it closed in 1997. Retail followed the houses down there. Joint Force Tactical is listed in that part of the city, near Garrison Crossing, with a postal code that puts it on the Vedder Road side of the neighborhood. Independent clothing retail is a short category in Chilliwack, because nearly all of the volume is national and sits in Cottonwood Centre and Eagle Landing, neither of which is in this directory. What remains is the layer underneath: boutiques in the downtown and the District 1881 blocks, a strong consignment and second-hand trade, and the western and workwear suppliers that exist because a great many people in this city work outdoors or on a farm.
That last strand is why the category reads differently here than it would in a suburb closer to Vancouver, and it is why a shop can be small and specific and still find enough customers to keep the door open. The name of this one points at a particular corner of the trade, but a name is a hint rather than an inventory, and nothing here confirms what is on the racks. No phone number is published, no website, and no street address either, only the neighborhood and the postal code. That is thin by any measure. The honest way to use it is as a pointer rather than a plan: worth a look if you are already at that end of Vedder Road, less worth a drive across town on the strength of a name alone. The category page will show you what else the independent side of the trade holds.

Search for a Chilliwack electrician and a good part of the first page is a Metro Vancouver firm with a Chilliwack landing page. How to tell the difference, what the hillside and farm jobs actually need, and how to get a quote that holds.

The City defines twelve neighborhoods. Three of them hold about two thirds of the population and most of the shopfronts, and the other nine run from a drained lake bed to a hillside to a working dairy landscape. Here is the honest version of each.
