Vedder grew 39 per cent between 2011 and 2021, faster than anywhere in Chilliwack except Promontory, and most of that arrived at the south end around Garrison Crossing, built on the grounds of the Canadian Forces base after it closed in 1997. Retail followed the houses down there. Joint Force Tactical is listed in that part of the city, near Garrison Crossing, with a postal code that puts it on the Vedder Road side of the neighbourhood.
