Vertex Auto Corp

Buying a used vehicle nearly always means traveling to the stock rather than waiting for the stock to come to you, which is why a Langley dealership can sit in a Chilliwack directory without anything strange being implied. Vertex Auto Corp trades from 21697 Fraser Highway in the Township of Langley, roughly an hour west of Chilliwack along Highway 1, and it appears here as an out of area business rather than a Chilliwack storefront. There is no lot to visit in this city. Anyone who drives into town expecting one will not find it.

What the company does is straightforward enough. It sells pre-owned cars, trucks and SUVs, takes trade-ins, and runs a finance department that accepts credit applications online. That is the standard shape of an independent used car dealer in British Columbia, as distinct from a franchised new car store tied to a single manufacturer. Independent lots generally source stock from auctions, trade-ins and private sales, so inventory turns over and what sits on the lot this month says little about next month.

The listing carries a phone number, 778-816-0102, and a website with current inventory. Both are worth using before making the drive, since a specific vehicle is the usual reason for the trip and a specific vehicle can be sold on a Tuesday afternoon. Ask about stock, about what a trade might be worth, and about whether financing can be arranged before you arrive.
