Finding a dentist in this city is mostly a question of which of two clusters you live nearer. The older one is downtown, around Chilliwack General Hospital on Menholm Road and through the professional blocks near Five Corners. The newer one, now the larger of the two, runs down Vedder Road through Sardis and on into Vedder and Promontory, following the population that has been moving that way. Alpine Dental belongs to the second group, somewhere in the plazas that line that corridor.
Sardis is a slightly odd home for a professional practice, in that it is overwhelmingly a shopping neighbourhood. Cottonwood Centre alone carries something over seventy tenancies, and the retail frontage along Vedder Road and Luckakuck Way accounts for a share of Chilliwack's storefronts far beyond what the neighbourhood's size would suggest. In practice that works in a patient's favour. An appointment folds into a trip that was happening anyway. It also means a practice out here usually sits inside a plaza rather than in a building of its own, so the first visit involves reading a tenant board rather than looking for a front door on the street.
There is very little else in the record. It gives no telephone number, no web address and nothing by way of a location beyond the postal code, so tracking down a current number is the first task rather than the last. Between them the two clusters cover general dentistry, hygiene, orthodontics, oral surgery and denture work, though no single practice covers all of it. The questions worth asking on that first call are whether the practice is taking new patients, what it handles in house against what it refers out, and how it deals with something urgent. The last of those matters more if you are calling from Yarrow, Greendale, Rosedale or Ryder Lake, which have essentially no dentistry of their own and drive in for all of it.
