Washing a vehicle in the eastern Fraser Valley is maintenance rather than vanity. Two thirds of the municipality is farmland, the rural road network is long, and something like eight months of the year puts a film of road spray and field dust over everything that moves. That is why the self-serve bays and touchless tunnels here trade steadily through the winter instead of waking up in June, and why they are strung along Vedder Road, the Young Road corridor and out towards the Highway 1 interchange, with several attached to independent fuel stops in the rural neighbourhoods.
