Christine's The Hair Place is listed in Vedder, and specifically in the part of it near Canada Education Park, which holds the University of the Fraser Valley campus, the RCMP Pacific Region Training Centre and a Justice Institute campus. Vedder grew 39 per cent between 2011 and 2021, faster than anywhere in Chilliwack but Promontory, and there are now more people living in it than in any neighbourhood except the downtown. Chain and franchise salons are excluded from this list. The pattern is worth knowing for anyone choosing by distance rather than by name.
A telephone number is published and a website is not, which is the usual arrangement for a room of this kind and no real obstacle, given that booking a chair is a phone call anyway. No street address appears in the record either, only a postal code, so the map pin is accurate to the block rather than the door. Everything a person actually wants to know before turning up, what things cost, how far ahead the book runs, what the room does and does not do, belongs to that first call. A listing under a single name does not say how many people work under it either, which is another thing easier asked than assumed.
