Most clothes bought in Chilliwack are bought in Cottonwood Centre or at Eagle Landing, from chains that are not listed on this site. The address places it in Chilliwack Proper, the core neighbourhood that holds about 31 per cent of the city's residents and its oldest commercial grid. Five Corners, where Yale Road, Young Road and Wellington Avenue all meet at once, has been the centre of the town since well before there were malls to compete with, and the surrounding blocks count more than 350 businesses across banks, restaurants, clinics, pharmacies and small retail. District 1881, built on the old Chilliwack Cattle Sales site, has drawn a second cluster in alongside it. Retail here has to work harder for footfall than a mall unit does, and it tends to be run by whoever owns it.
The word resale in the name is the clearest thing the record says about how the shop trades, and it is a category that behaves differently from ordinary retail. Stock turns over on whatever comes through the door, so what is on the rails this week is not what was there last week, and there is no reliable way to check ahead for a particular size or item.
