Electronics Stores
A electronics and repair shop in one of the Sardis plazas along Vedder Road.
There are two ways to walk into a computer shop: buying something, or carrying in something that has stopped working. In Chilliwack the independent trade leans hard toward the second. The national electronics retailers are at Eagle Landing and along Luckakuck Way and none of them are in this directory, which leaves the businesses that fix laptops, recover drives, build machines to order, replace phone and tablet screens, and keep the offices downtown and the industrial operations out at Village West running. For a specification and a manufacturer's warranty, the mall. For a repair, this list.
Express Computers is listed in Sardis, which is where most of the city's shopping happens. Cottonwood Centre carries something over seventy tenancies, Chilliwack Mall is across the way, and Luckakuck Way between them is the closest thing here to a big-box strip. The postal code puts this one in the plazas along the Vedder Road run rather than inside either mall, which is the usual home for the format: close to the traffic without being part of it. Vedder Road is the spine the whole of Sardis hangs off, and it carries traffic from the entire south end of the city.
No street number, phone or website appears on the record, so the postal code and the category are what there is to go on. That gap matters more for a repair business than for most, because the questions that decide anything are specific ones. Whether they work on the make you own, whether diagnosis is charged separately from the fix, and what turnaround looks like that particular week are all settled at the counter. It is worth asking too whether anything is sold over the counter at all, since parts of this trade run almost entirely on service and on parts ordered for a job. None of that should be assumed from the category heading alone.

The drive-throughs on Luckakuck are the visible half of eating here. The interesting half is downtown, out on the farm roads, and in the strip plazas nobody photographs.
