Pet retail here has a rural bias that shows up the moment you scroll the category. Alongside the neighbourhood shops in Sardis and the downtown there are feed and supply operations out in Greendale, Rosedale and up toward Ryder Lake serving horses, livestock and working dogs at least as much as house pets, carrying bulk feed, fencing and tack that a suburban shop would have no reason to stock. Ryder Lake in particular is smallholding and equine country.
Mr. Pet's is listed on the other side of that split, in Sardis, near the retail centre of gravity for the whole city. Cottonwood Centre carries something over seventy tenancies, Chilliwack Mall sits across from it, and the Luckakuck Way strip runs between the two. For a neighbourhood only fourth largest by area, Sardis holds a wildly disproportionate share of Chilliwack's storefronts, and a shop of this kind in that setting is folded into other errands more often than it is the reason for the trip.
