Home Goods
An owner-run home goods shop, near the Cottonwood and Chilliwack Mall cluster.
Furnishing a house is a growth industry in this city, whether or not anyone in the trade would put it that way. Chilliwack added something in the order of 11,700 residents between 2020 and 2025, an increase of 11.6 per cent, and a great many of them moved into something newly built. Empty rooms follow. So does demand for the things that go in them, which is the whole of this category: kitchenware, linens, decor and the general business of making a house habitable.
Nick's Lighting and Decor is placed in Sardis, near the Cottonwood Centre and Chilliwack Mall cluster, which is where Chilliwack does most of its shopping. Cottonwood alone carries something over seventy tenancies and Luckakuck Way runs between the two centers. For a neighborhood only fourth largest by area, Sardis holds an outsized share of the city's storefronts, and an independent shop sitting near that concentration is trading in the shadow of the chains rather than away from them. The chains themselves, at Cottonwood and out at Eagle Landing, are not in this directory. What is listed instead are the smaller shops downtown, through the District 1881 blocks and here in Sardis, often with a shelf given over to valley makers.
The name points at lighting and at decor, and beyond that nothing further will be said here about range. No phone number, no website and no street address are published, which leaves the postal code above as the way to find the block. For a shop of this kind that is a real limitation, since the first question anyone sensible asks is whether the thing they are after is carried at all, and there is no way to ask it from here. Cottonwood and Chilliwack Mall are both a few minutes away, which at least makes the trip easy to combine with something else.

The City defines twelve neighborhoods. Three of them hold about two thirds of the population and most of the shopfronts, and the other nine run from a drained lake bed to a hillside to a working dairy landscape. Here is the honest version of each.
