Photographers
A full-service photography studio in the District 1881 blocks downtown, doing weddings, family, portrait and brand work across the valley.
Photography is a category where Chilliwack punches above the weight of a city of ninety thousand, and the explanation is standing behind the town. Mount Cheam, the Vedder, the Chilliwack River valley, the corn and tulip fields and Cultus Lake give the wedding and portrait trade a set of locations that people drive out from Metro Vancouver to shoot in. A fair number of photographers based here work regionally rather than locally as a result, and their year is shaped by the weather more than by the calendar. The category behaves partly like a tourism business and partly like an ordinary local service.
Underneath the destination work is the trade that actually pays the bills: family sessions, graduation portraits, real estate and drone work for a property market that has been moving quickly, and commercial shoots for the growers and the food processors. Urban Fig Photography is described as a full-service studio covering weddings, family, portrait and brand work across the valley, which is that whole range rather than a single lane, and its base is given as the District 1881 blocks downtown, the redevelopment built on the old Chilliwack Cattle Sales site.
No phone number, website or street address appears in this record, which leaves a gap, because photography is close to unhireable sight unseen. Style varies enormously between studios doing nominally the same job, and portfolio work is the only honest way to judge it. Nothing in a directory entry substitutes for that. Once you can reach a studio, the questions worth asking early are what a session includes, what you actually receive at the end of it, and how far the photographer will travel, since someone who shoots Cultus Lake and the river valley regularly may or may not count those as local ground. Settling that at first contact saves a longer and more awkward conversation nearer the date.

The drive-throughs on Luckakuck are the visible half of eating here. The interesting half is downtown, out on the farm roads, and in the strip plazas nobody photographs.
