Alicia's Flavours
About Alicia's Flavours
An independent Mexican restaurant off the Luckakuck Way strip.
Finding an independent dining room in Sardis takes some deliberateness. This is the retail centre of gravity for the whole city, with Cottonwood Centre and its seventy odd tenancies on one side, Chilliwack Mall across the way and the big box run of Luckakuck Way between them, and the small kitchens sit in among all that at plaza scale, easy to drive straight past at fifty. Alicia's Flavours is one of them, Mexican, and independent, which on this site is a meaningful word: national brands are kept off the restaurant category entirely.
The city's independent rooms are scattered rather than clustered, and that is the single most useful thing to know before deciding where to eat here. The heaviest concentration is downtown, around Five Corners and in the District 1881 development on the old Chilliwack Cattle Sales site, which brought in a run of newer kitchens. Vedder Road through Sardis and Vedder has the greatest number of rooms overall, though the plaza problem applies to most of them. Out in Yarrow and Rosedale there are a few places that have outlasted several owners.
The record here gives a telephone number and a Facebook page, with no street address and no website of its own. That is a common enough arrangement for a small kitchen, and it tells you where the current information is likely to be. A social page is usually more up to date than a website, though it is also where hours and closures get posted once and then buried under everything since, so a call ahead is the safer move before a first visit. None of the details that decide whether a trip is worth it, the hours, whether it is a counter or a room with tables, what the kitchen actually puts out on a given day, can be settled from this page. The postal code will put a map on the right commercial pocket of Sardis.
