An owner-run restaurant, in the Sardis retail district.
Eating out here is a scattered exercise rather than a concentrated one, and knowing that in advance saves a certain amount of driving. The densest run of independent rooms is downtown, in the blocks around Five Corners and in District 1881, the redevelopment on the old Chilliwack Cattle Sales site. Vedder Road through Sardis and Vedder has the greatest number overall, though a good share sit in strip plazas set back behind parking, which makes them easy to pass at speed without registering that they are there. Yarrow and Rosedale hold a few places that have outlasted several owners.
Ricky's All Day Grill is listed in the Sardis retail district, which puts it in the busiest commercial part of the city, near Cottonwood Centre and Chilliwack Mall with the big-box run on Luckakuck Way between them. Cottonwood Centre alone carries something over seventy tenancies, which gives some idea of the volume of people moving through that quarter on an ordinary weekend. Dining rooms in that setting draw a particular kind of custom: people already out doing something else, shopping or working nearby, who decide to eat rather than setting out to. That is a different proposition from a destination kitchen somewhere on the flat, and it tends to shape how a room is used across the day.
No street address, telephone or web page is available, and for a restaurant that gap is felt more than in most categories, since hours, service times and whether a table can be held are exactly what people want settled in advance. The postal code, V2R 3P3, will bring a map close enough. Ownership and format change hands more often in this trade than in most others, which is a further argument for checking rather than remembering. Anything beyond the address, particularly at either end of the day, is better confirmed than assumed.
