Fast Food & Takeout
A locally owned pizza takeaway, in the old commercial grid around Five Corners.
Most of what looks like fast food in Chilliwack is not local. The visible version of the category is the run of drive-throughs along Luckakuck Way and out at the Highway 1 interchange, and those are almost entirely national chains, which are not covered here.
What remains is the half that is harder to find and generally better: independent pizza shops, Asian takeout counters in the Sardis strip plazas, fish and chips near Vedder Crossing, Middle Eastern and Mexican places downtown, and the trucks that move around the industrial areas at lunchtime. A shorter list, and a more useful one. Best Bite Pizza sits in that half.
Its postal code places it in the downtown, inside the old grid around Five Corners, where Yale Road, Young Road and Wellington Avenue meet and where the commercial center of the town has been since well before the shopping centers. Independent pizza is a durable trade in a neighborhood built like that one, with more than 350 businesses in it, the hospital a few streets away on Menholm Road, and housing in the blocks between. This is also the densest part of Chilliwack, holding about 31 per cent of the city's population, so the catchment within a few blocks is larger than the quiet streets suggest.
The contact detail here is close to nonexistent. There is a postal code and very little else: no street given, no line to ring, no page to order from. For a takeaway that is the awkward combination, because ordering ahead is normally the entire point of the format. A map will get somebody to the right few blocks and no closer, so anyone planning to collect food should expect to pin down the exact address first, by some route other than here. Nothing here describes the menu, the prices or how orders are taken, and none of that is worth guessing at.

The City defines twelve neighborhoods. Three of them hold about two thirds of the population and most of the shopfronts, and the other nine run from a drained lake bed to a hillside to a working dairy landscape. Here is the honest version of each.
