Doctors & Clinics
An independent medical clinic on the downtown side of the Hope Slough.
The honest advice for anyone working through this section is to telephone before driving anywhere, because family practice in Chilliwack is under the same pressure it is under everywhere else in British Columbia, and a clinic taking patients in the spring may not be by the autumn. That advice is harder to follow here than usual. Chilliwack Mountain Medical publishes neither a phone number nor a website, which leaves the postal code as the only firm detail available. There is nothing unusual in that for a small practice, but it leaves no way to reach the practice directly from here.
What the postal code establishes is that the clinic sits on the downtown side of the Hope Slough. Medical practice in this city gathers in two places: around Chilliwack General Hospital on Menholm Road, and along Vedder Road through Sardis, with walk-in and urgent care attached to several of them. The downtown grouping is the older of the two, and it has the advantage of sitting among more than 350 other businesses, pharmacies and banks included, which matters more than it sounds when a visit ends with a prescription to fill.
The thing you most want to know is the one thing that cannot be answered here: whether the practice is accepting new patients, whether it runs a walk-in service, and what hours it keeps. None of that is known and none of it should be guessed at. Worth noting as well that chiropractic, physiotherapy, massage therapy and counselling are left out here as a matter of standing policy, so a business appearing under this heading is a medical clinic in the ordinary sense rather than allied health. If the clinic cannot be reached directly, asking at another practice in the same downtown cluster is usually faster than driving from one door to the next and reading the notices taped inside them.

The City defines twelve neighborhoods. Three of them hold about two thirds of the population and most of the shopfronts, and the other nine run from a drained lake bed to a hillside to a working dairy landscape. Here is the honest version of each.
