Pro-Health Pharmacy is recorded in Chilliwack Proper, the old core neighborhood that holds about 31 per cent of the city's residents along with Five Corners, the District 1881 blocks and Chilliwack General Hospital on Menholm Road. Five Corners, where Yale Road, Young Road and Wellington Avenue all arrive at once, has been the commercial center of the town since long before the malls existed, and something over 350 businesses trade in the blocks around it. The nearness of the hospital and the clinics matters for a dispensary. Independent pharmacy work follows the flow of prescriptions out of doctors' offices, and downtown is where most of Chilliwack's offices are.
Independents have survived here in better numbers than in most cities this size, and the geography explains it. A municipality shaped like that keeps neighborhood dispensaries alive that a compact city would have consolidated into supermarket counters years ago. Delivery is common for the same reason.
