Pharmacies
An independent pharmacy in one of the Sardis plazas along Vedder Road.
Pharmacy in Chilliwack is shaped by how spread out the place is. The chains sit in the malls and inside the supermarkets and none of them are listed on this site, which leaves the independent dispensaries, and there are more of those here than a city of ninety thousand would ordinarily keep. A municipality of 261 square kilometres, with an older population out in the rural neighbourhoods, sustains local counters that a compact city would have consolidated away years ago.
Some are near Chilliwack General on Menholm Road and effectively attached to clinics; others serve Sardis and Vedder. Delivery is common in this category for the same geographic reason.
This entry falls into the Sardis group, in one of the plazas along Vedder Road, which is the corridor almost everyone in the south of the city uses for errands. That is a practical position for a dispensary. It is on the way to most other things, and it is close to the retail weight of Cottonwood Centre and Chilliwack Mall without being inside either. The plazas along that road are the ordinary furniture of the south end, and a dispensary in one of them is doing roughly the work a village chemist used to do, at the scale of a suburb.
The website recorded for Remedy's Rx is a general one rather than a page for this specific store, so anything it describes should be checked against the counter itself. No phone number and no street address are given, only the postal code. Independent counters differ from one another far more than chain branches do, and the things most worth knowing are precisely the ones that vary between them: whether compounding is done on site, whether blister packing and long term care service are offered, what area delivery covers, and which vaccinations can be had without an appointment. Those all deserve a direct question before a prescription is transferred anywhere.
