Where a dispensary sits matters more in Promontory than it does in most of Chilliwack. The neighborhood is almost entirely residential, close to twelve thousand people on the slopes above Vedder, effectively built in one go and grown 39 per cent in the decade to 2021, which makes it the third most populous part of the city on the third smallest footprint. Almost everything that is not a house is down the hill in Vedder or Sardis. Promontory IDA Pharmacy is at Unit 105, 5615 Teskey Road, up there rather than down.
The IDA name is a banner that independently owned drugstores trade under rather than a corporate chain, which is why one carrying it belongs on a list of local businesses at all. The large chains sit in the malls and beside the supermarkets, and none of them are in this directory. What remains is Chilliwack's independent pharmacy trade, which is more substantial than the size of the city would predict: a municipality spread across 261 square kilometres, with an older population in the rural neighborhoods, sustains dispensaries that a compact town would have lost years ago. Some sit beside clinics near the hospital downtown, others serve Sardis and Vedder, and there is a compounding and long-term-care strand too. Delivery is common for the same reason the shops survive: distance.

A pharmacy is one of the few businesses where hours, whether a prescription can be transferred, and whether delivery reaches your street are all things you would sooner know before setting out, and none of them are answerable from here.
