An owner-run food shop, near Garrison Crossing.
Seventeen thousand hectares of Chilliwack is farmland, carrying more than 700 farms, and close to 30 per cent of the local economy comes off that ground. It is the largest dairy producing area in British Columbia, with poultry and greenhouse growing behind it. The practical result for a shop selling food here is that the supply lines can be extremely short, shorter than a supermarket buyer would ever bother with. Clancy's Meat Co. is listed under grocery, which on this site means the independent half of that trade; the national chains are not included. The name points in an obvious direction, though nothing beyond the category can be confirmed.
The postal code places it in Vedder, which runs from the Sardis edge down to the river and has been the fastest-growing neighborhood in the city. Most of that growth is at the south end, around Garrison Crossing, built on the grounds of the Canadian Forces base after it closed in 1997, and Vedder now holds more people than anywhere in Chilliwack but the downtown. That is a lot of new households within a short drive, and it is the kind of catchment a specialist food shop needs in order to work outside a high street. The customers are there, in other words, and close by.
Nothing else is filled in. There is no street address, no website and no phone number, which puts a limit on how useful the available information can be on its own. What is stocked and how it is sold are unknown here and should be treated as such. Vedder is as specific as it gets, and it does not narrow things past the neighborhood. Turning up and asking is the only option, so it is worth arriving with a question rather than a shopping list.

The City defines twelve neighborhoods. Three of them hold about two thirds of the population and most of the shopfronts, and the other nine run from a drained lake bed to a hillside to a working dairy landscape. Here is the honest version of each.
