About Han Korea
A locally owned Korean restaurant, in Vedder, close to the Canada Education Park campuses.
Canada Education Park occupies the south end of the city and holds the University of the Fraser Valley's Chilliwack campus, the RCMP Pacific Region Training Centre and a Justice Institute of BC campus. That is a substantial daytime population set down inside a residential neighbourhood, a good deal of it students and trainees who are not from here and will not be staying. Han Korea is listed in Vedder, close to those campuses.
The neighbourhood around those campuses is the fastest growing part of Chilliwack after Promontory, having added 39 per cent to its population between the 2011 and 2021 censuses. It runs a long way, from the Sardis edge south to the Vedder River, and takes in Tzeachten First Nation and the Canada Education Park lands along the length of it. That makes for a young part of the city in both senses of the word, and one where a fair amount of the eating out happens close to home rather than downtown. Chains are excluded from this directory, so a listing here is at least confirmation that the restaurant is locally owned.
