7101 Vedder Road is a Sardis address, on the artery carrying most of the movement between the downtown and the south end of the city. Independent restaurants in Chilliwack are scattered rather than gathered, and this stretch has the greatest number of rooms of anywhere in the municipality, though most of them sit in strip plazas set back from the road and are easy to drive straight past. The downtown, around Five Corners and the District 1881 site on the old Chilliwack Cattle Sales grounds, has the denser concentration in a smaller area; Vedder Road has the volume.
