Finding dinner in Chilliwack takes a little local knowledge, because the independent rooms are scattered rather than clustered. The downtown has the densest concentration, in the blocks around Five Corners and in the District 1881 development on the old Chilliwack Cattle Sales site, which brought a run of newer kitchens in at once. Vedder Road through Sardis has more rooms in total, though most of those sit in strip plazas and are easy to drive straight past. Yarrow and Rosedale hold a handful that have outlasted several owners. Chains are excluded from this site, so the list left over is short and genuinely local.

Nothing else is filled in. No telephone number, no website, no hours. For a sit-down room that is more of an obstacle than it would be for a counter you can simply walk into, because there is no way to check ahead whether the place is open, whether it takes bookings, or whether the kitchen is running that day. The street number and postal code will get you to the right block of Young Road. Everything past that has to be established on arrival, or through a number found some other way. The downtown is at least the easiest part of Chilliwack to turn up in on spec, since a shut door leaves several hundred other businesses inside a few blocks.
