Yale Road is the old highway through Chilliwack, the route that carried through traffic before the freeway took it away, and the motor inns strung along it are a leftover from that arrangement. Rainbow Motor Inn is at 45620, in the retail belt around Cottonwood Centre and Chilliwack Mall rather than out at a Highway 1 interchange, which is where most of the city's rooms have ended up.
That distinction is the whole point of this section of the directory. The bulk of Chilliwack's accommodation is national brands at the freeway exits and none of those appear here. What is left is the independent side, small but genuinely local: family-run motels, a few inns, riverside and rural places out toward Vedder Crossing and the Chilliwack River valley, and bed-and-breakfast operations in the farming neighbourhoods. The demand behind all of it is seasonal and largely outdoor. Cultus Lake, the Vedder fishing runs, Mount Cheam and the campgrounds up the Chilliwack River valley fill rooms through the warm half of the year and empty them again after, so August is a book-ahead month in a way that February is not.
A phone number and a website are both published for this one, which puts rates, room types and availability a call or a click away and makes anything written here redundant on those points. What the address is worth saying is this. A motor inn in the middle of the Sardis retail district is a different proposition from a lodge up the valley: it suits someone in town for errands, a hospital appointment or an overnight stop on the way east, rather than someone who came for the river and wants to be near it at six in the morning. That is not a criticism of either. It is just the first thing to settle before booking.
