A place to stay on Vedder Road, in Vedder, between the Sardis malls and Vedder Crossing.
Almost all of Chilliwack's hotel rooms are national brands parked at the Highway 1 interchanges, and none of them appear in this directory. What is left is the independent side: family motels, a few inns, riverside and rural places up toward Vedder Crossing and the Chilliwack River valley, and bed-and-breakfast rooms out in the farming neighborhoods. It is a small list, and it is the part of the accommodation trade that is actually of this city.
The Vedder River Inn is at 5788 Vedder Road, which is a useful position to hold. Vedder Road is the spine of the southern half of Chilliwack, running from the Sardis retail district down to the river crossing, so the address sits between the malls at one end and the fishing water at the other.
Vedder itself is the fastest-growing neighborhood in the city, up 39 per cent between 2011 and 2021, and it now holds more people than anywhere except the downtown. Canada Education Park and the University of the Fraser Valley campus are in the same neighborhood, as is Garrison Crossing, built on the grounds of the Canadian Forces base that closed in December 1997.
Demand for rooms in Chilliwack is seasonal and tied to the outdoors rather than to business travel. Cultus Lake, the Vedder runs, Mount Cheam and the campgrounds up the Chilliwack River valley fill the warm half of the year and empty out of it, and availability follows that curve closely. August needs planning ahead. Seasonal demand tends to move rates as well as availability, which is a general truth about this trade rather than anything specific to this address. Both a telephone number and a website are published here, and either will answer what is not covered above: what the rooms are, what they cost, and whether there is anything free on the date in question.

Search for a Chilliwack electrician and a good part of the first page is a Metro Vancouver firm with a Chilliwack landing page. How to tell the difference, what the hillside and farm jobs actually need, and how to get a quote that holds.

The City defines twelve neighborhoods. Three of them hold about two thirds of the population and most of the shopfronts, and the other nine run from a drained lake bed to a hillside to a working dairy landscape. Here is the honest version of each.
