Jolly Miller Pub
About Jolly Miller Pub
A pub near Garrison Crossing.
Drinking in Chilliwack happens in neighborhood rooms rather than in any kind of bar district. There is no strip in this city where you could walk between three pubs in an evening, and nobody plans a night out that way. What there is instead is a scattering of places that each serve the houses around them, and the Jolly Miller sits in Vedder, in the part of the city that has changed most in the last fifteen years.
That matters for what a pub in this position is doing. Vedder grew by 39 per cent between 2011 and 2021, faster than anywhere in Chilliwack except Promontory, and the bulk of that growth came at the south end: Garrison Crossing, laid out on the grounds of the Canadian Forces base that closed in 1997, and the subdivisions that filled in around it. A great many of those households arrived after the pub did. The Vedder and Sardis pubs generally read as suburban rather than old, and the older rooms, several of them attached to hotels that predate the malls, are all downtown. Further along, Vedder Crossing fills with fishing traffic through the season, which is a different trade again.
The listing here is thin, and it is worth saying so plainly. No street address, phone number or website is published for the Jolly Miller in this directory, only a postal code, which will drop a pin in the right pocket of Vedder near Garrison Crossing. That means hours, food service, whether there is a patio and whether the room is family accessible at any given time of day are all things you would have to establish by turning up or by asking someone who has. For a pub that is a lower bar than it would be for most trades, but it is still worth knowing before you drive across town on a Tuesday.

The twelve Chilliwack neighborhoods, and what each one is actually like
The City defines twelve neighborhoods. Three of them hold about two thirds of the population and most of the shopfronts, and the other nine run from a drained lake bed to a hillside to a working dairy landscape. Here is the honest version of each.
