Anyone hoping to walk out of one licensed room and into the next will be disappointed by the way this city is laid out. There is no such block in Chilliwack, and turning up with that expectation means spending the evening in a car. What the city has instead is neighbourhood pubs, spread thin: the oldest rooms downtown, several of them attached to hotels that were here before the malls, larger suburban places with patios out in Sardis and Vedder, and a couple at Vedder Crossing that fill with fishing traffic when the river is running. Chain pub brands are left off this list, so what remains is independently run.
Wellington Social House is one of the downtown entries.
