Bars & Pubs
An owner-run pub, in the old commercial grid around Five Corners.
There is no block in Chilliwack where you could walk between three pubs in an evening. What the city has instead is neighborhood rooms, spread thinly across a population that counted 93,203 at the last census and rather more since; the City's own 2025 estimate puts it near 112,500. The downtown is the closest thing to an exception, because the old commercial grid around Five Corners holds several of the oldest rooms in town, some of them attached to hotels that were here long before the malls went up out on Luckakuck Way.
Fortitude Wine Bar sits in that grid. No street address is given, only a postal code, and it will put a map within a couple of blocks of the point where Yale Road, Young Road and Wellington Avenue all arrive at once. The name leads with wine rather than with taps, which is a slightly unusual thing to lead with here. It is filed under bars and pubs for want of a nearer category. What this city mostly does not have is a cocktail or wine scene; the few rooms working that side of the trade are downtown, which is at least consistent with where this one is. Whether the room itself leans one way or the other is not something known here.
No phone number or website is published either, so hours, food and whether it is open at all on a given evening cannot be checked from here. That is common among small downtown rooms and it is not a mark against the place, but it does shift the burden onto turning up or asking someone who has. The location makes that less of an imposition than it sounds. More than 350 businesses trade in these blocks, District 1881 has added a second cluster of eating and drinking beside them on the old Chilliwack Cattle Sales site, and nothing down here is far from anything else.

The City defines twelve neighborhoods. Three of them hold about two thirds of the population and most of the shopfronts, and the other nine run from a drained lake bed to a hillside to a working dairy landscape. Here is the honest version of each.
