The website attached to this listing is a page on the City of Chilliwack's own site, which is the first thing to notice about it. Rotary Pool is a municipal facility rather than a private club, and that changes almost everything a reader wants to know: how you get in, what it costs, who else is likely to be in the water and when the doors are open are all set by the City rather than by an operator. The number above and that page are the two places to check any of it.
It stands on Reece Avenue in Chilliwack Proper, the neighbourhood that holds about 31 per cent of the city's residents. Downtown is the oldest part of Chilliwack and the most closely built, and a public pool inside that grid is reachable on foot for a large number of people, which is not true of much else in this category, where the usual arrangement is a unit off a road you have to drive to. The postal code will land a map on the right block.
Filing a pool under gyms and fitness is the directory doing what directories do, and it is worth understanding what else is on that list. The national chains are left out, which leaves independent gyms, strength and conditioning rooms, boxing and martial arts clubs, and the smaller studios in the industrial units behind Sardis and along Vedder Road where ceilings are high and rent is not. Demand for all of it is held up partly by Canada Education Park at the south end, where the university, the RCMP training centre and the Justice Institute put a concentration of people who train seriously into one corner of the city. A municipal pool serves a broader crowd than any of that, and serves it on the City's terms. That is a different proposition from a membership, and worth knowing before you go looking for one.

The drive-throughs on Luckakuck are the visible half of eating here. The interesting half is downtown, out on the farm roads, and in the strip plazas nobody photographs.
