An independent Indian restaurant in Vedder, between the Sardis malls and Vedder Crossing.
Unit B140 is the tell. An address with a unit letter and a three digit number on Vedder Road means a plaza, set back from the road behind a parking lot, and that is where a large share of Chilliwack's independent restaurants actually are. Dining rooms in this city do not cluster the way they would in a town with one restaurant street. The downtown has the highest concentration, around Five Corners and in the District 1881 blocks on the old Chilliwack Cattle Sales site. Vedder Road has the greatest number overall, but they are spread along several kilometres of it and are genuinely easy to drive past. A plaza address says nothing much about a kitchen; several of the better rooms in this city sit in exactly that sort of unit.
Number 6640 puts Royal Zayka Cuisine of India between the Sardis shopping centres and Vedder Crossing, in the neighbourhood that has grown faster than anywhere in Chilliwack bar Promontory. Vedder was up 39 per cent between 2011 and 2021, most of that at the southern end on and around the grounds of the Canadian Forces base that closed in December 1997. A room serving that catchment is serving a great many households who were not living here fifteen years ago, which is a different job from feeding a settled neighbourhood.
Both a phone number and a website are published for this one, which is more than most entries on this site carry and makes the practical questions easy to settle. Hours, whether tables are held for bookings, and what the takeaway and delivery arrangements are can be confirmed directly rather than guessed at from here. The site is the one place a menu might be visible, though pages of that sort can sit unedited for a long stretch. What is on the menu, and how hot anything arrives, is between you and the kitchen.

The drive-throughs on Luckakuck are the visible half of eating here. The interesting half is downtown, out on the farm roads, and in the strip plazas nobody photographs.
