Chilliwack keeps a lot of electricians busy, and the work divides more sharply here than in most cities. There is new residential; Promontory, the Eastern Hillsides and the Vedder subdivisions have been under construction for years. There is service and rewiring in the older downtown and Fairfield Island housing stock, much of it mid-century. And there is agricultural and industrial: barns, milking parlours, irrigation, three-phase supply, grain and feed equipment out in Greendale, Rosedale and Yarrow, and the plants in Village West and Cattermole. That last strand is specialist work and not every residential electrician takes it on.
