About Cookies Grill
An independent restaurant out in Chilliwack West near the Highway 1 interchange.
Chilliwack West is the strangest of the city's neighbourhoods to read. Barely 2,500 people live in it, scattered up the side of Chilliwack Mountain in cul-de-sacs and small subdivisions, and yet it holds two of the busiest commercial areas in Chilliwack. Both are there because of the highway rather than because of the neighbours: Eagle Landing at the interchange, and the Village West industrial area along the Fraser. A restaurant out here works a different room from one downtown, with custom that may be local, may be industrial, and may simply be passing through on Highway 1.
Yale Road is the old route west, running parallel to the highway that replaced it, and unit A-3 at 44335 puts this kitchen on that stretch. Independent dining in Chilliwack is scattered rather than clustered, which is the single most useful thing to know when looking for dinner here. The densest run is downtown around Five Corners and in the District 1881 blocks; Vedder Road has the greatest number of rooms overall but hides most of them in strip plazas; and the rest, this one included, sit on their own. Chains are excluded from this directory, so everything remaining is genuinely local. Yale Road carries a mix of older frontage and newer units, and an address on it is one you drive to rather than come across.
Both a phone number and a website are published, at (604) 792-0444 and cookiesgrill.ca, which is more than most records on this site carry. Hours, the current menu and whether the kitchen takes bookings will be there, and none of those things belong on a directory page that cannot keep up with them. Nothing on this page describes the cooking, and it would be guesswork to try. It is worth a call before setting out, since the city is spread out enough that this address is a drive from most of it.
