About Unsworth Market
An owner-run corner store, in Vedder, between the Sardis malls and Vedder Crossing.
Chilliwack is a large municipality that is thinly settled once you leave the central L, and a surprising number of households here are ten minutes' drive from a supermarket. That is the reason the corner store still does real work in this city, and the reason this particular list runs longer than a visitor would expect. It takes in the village store in Yarrow, the crossroads shops in Greendale and Rosedale that double as the post drop and the lottery counter, the ones up on Promontory serving a hill with no other retail on it, and the older shops in the downtown grid.
Unsworth Market sits in Vedder, in the stretch between the Sardis shopping centers and Vedder Crossing. That is a more populated setting than most of that list, and a fast changing one: Vedder grew 39 per cent between 2011 and 2021, faster than any part of Chilliwack except Promontory, and it now holds more residents than anywhere but the downtown. A corner store in a neighborhood adding people that quickly is serving a mix of long-standing households and streets that did not exist twenty years ago. What either kind of household wants from a shop like this is much the same, and it is usually whatever is not worth a drive to Sardis.
Branded petrol-station kiosks and national convenience chains are excluded from this directory, so what is left in the category is largely family-run. Beyond that, the listing is deliberately thin. No phone number or website has been published, and nothing here should be read as a claim about what is stocked, what services the counter handles, or when the lights are on. Corner shops vary enormously on all three. The postal code above will put a map on the right block, and the rest of it is not something a directory entry can honestly settle.

The twelve Chilliwack neighborhoods, and what each one is actually like
The City defines twelve neighborhoods. Three of them hold about two thirds of the population and most of the shopfronts, and the other nine run from a drained lake bed to a hillside to a working dairy landscape. Here is the honest version of each.
