Main Street runs through the oldest commercial grid in Chilliwack, the blocks that grew up around Five Corners where Yale Road, Young Road and Wellington Avenue converge. Zando Market carries a Main Street address inside that grid. The downtown holds about 31 per cent of the city's residents, more than any other neighbourhood, and a good many of them live within walking distance of a shop of this kind, which is the whole point of a corner store and a fair part of the reason the format has not died here.
