Chilliwack florists have a supply line most of the trade would envy. Greenhouse and nursery growing is one of the leading agricultural sectors in the city, alongside dairy and poultry, so a fair amount of what goes into an arrangement here was cut inside the municipality rather than flown in. The shops themselves are split between the downtown, where several have been in the same family for decades and do most of the funeral and hospital work because Chilliwack General is close by, and Sardis, which handles the wedding and event trade for the growing south end. A few growers out in Greendale and Rosedale sell direct at the gate in season.
