Chilliwack eats in three quite separate places. There is the downtown, where Five Corners and the District 1881 blocks have picked up most of the city's newer independent kitchens. There is the Vedder Road strip, which runs from the Sardis malls down to the river crossing and holds the largest number of rooms by a distance, mostly in small plazas. And there is everything out on the flat — the farm stands, the roadside stops on Highway 1 through Rosedale, and the couple of places in Yarrow that have outlasted several owners. This section covers all of it: restaurants, cafes, bakeries, pubs, breweries and the shops you buy the raw materials from. National chains are not listed.
